Homemade Hamburger Helper

I made Homemade Hamburger Helper for dinner tonight.  It was bad.  Seriously....BAD.  Small T, who is the ultimate fan of Hamburger Helper said, "This is gross!".  Big C wouldn't even try it.  The kids have to leave in just a few minutes to meet the school bus for the game and now they don't have dinner unless they grab a quick sandwich out of the refrigerator.  Now....I would share this recipe, but it would be mean of me to do so.  I don't want to hurt someone's feelings when they worked really hard to develop this and even shared the recipe on their website.  With that said, I will be doing further research to find a better homemade version of this.
**Edited to add.....OH MY GOSH....Big Daddy LIKES the Hamburger Helper!!!  NO WAY!!!**
