I made this hat to go with my Simple Super-Long Scarf.
This hat is worked using 2 strands of yarn held together.
I have a really large head, so...be aware that this hat will be BIG. You can always alter it to fit your head by leaving out an increase row or two.
This is a close-up photo of the hat. My model was unwilling, so it was left up to me to get a photo. :(
Simple (Fold Up) Brimmed Hat - Free Pattern
Worsted Weight Yarn (I used the 2 partial skeins of Soft White I had left after making the scarf)
N crochet hook
1- Make a magic ring, ch 2, work 11 hdc in the ring, join with a sl st to the 2nd ch of the beg ch 2.
2- ch 2, hd in same st, work 2 hdc in each st around, join with a sl st to the 2nd ch of the beg ch 2.
3- ch 2, work 2 hdc in the NEXT st, *hdc in the next st, work 2 hdc in the next st; repeat from * around, join with a sl st to the 2nd ch of the beg ch 2.
4- ch 2, hdc in the next st, 2 hdc in the next st, * hdc in the next 2 sts, 2 hdc in the next st; repeat from * around, join with a sl st to the 2nd ch of the beg ch 2.
5- ch 2, hdc in the next 2 sts, 2 hdc in the next st, *hdc in the next 3 sts, 2 hdc in the next st; repeat from * around, join with a sl st to the 2nd ch of the beg ch 2.
6- ch 2, hdc in each st around, join with a sl st to the 2nd ch of the beg ch 2.
7 thru 12 - repeat round 6.
13- ch 1, sc in the next 2 sts, sc2tog, *sc in next 3 sts, sc2tog; repeat from * around, join with a sl st to the 2nd ch of the beg ch 2.
14- ch 1, sc in each st around, join with a sl st to the beg ch 1.
15 & 16 - repeat round 14.
at the end of round 16, fasten off, weave in ends.
turn hat right side out. roll up brim.
