Prom Season

The month of April was Prom Season around here.
Small T attended the Northwestern Prom with Curtis.
Then a week later, she went to her own prom with Royce, a fellow classmate.
The three cousins, all dressed up for prom....Small T, Awan, Z.
They didn't try to color-coordinate, I swear. It just happened.
Prom King (Joe) and Prom Queen (Small T).

My Last High School Graduate

Five days after my last final, Small T graduated from High School.
We kicked off the celebration weekend with a huge family BBQ on that Saturday.
Here's Small T holding her cake up for a photo.
Two of her cousins were also graduating and we all partied together.
Z is on the left, Awan in the middle, and Small T on the right.
These three were in the same class, in the same school.
Z belongs to my youngest sister, Annie, and Awan belongs to my second youngest sister, Marie.
Could any three kids look so different? Crazy, right?
The next day, Sunday, was graduation or commencement.
Here is Small T receiving her scholarships.
 She's receiving her diploma.
And now she's graduated. Look at that smile!
Once again, the three cousins. :)
The three moms with their children beside them.
At the actual graduation party we held for her. I love this blue dress she is wearing and she's also got on the pearls that my uncle gave to her when she was 13.  Every girl needs a good set of pearls, in my opinion.
Her graduation cake, cupcakes, and a small photo collage.
It turned out to be a wonderful, yet hectic, day.
Congratulations Tianna!

Senior Ad

Last week, I had to get my stuff in for Tianna's Senior Ad in the yearbook. I emailed my favorite photo of her to the advisor and filled out the paperwork with this quote:

I'm not super sentimental about stuff like this, but honestly, this brings tears to my eyes every time I read it. I think it says it all.

I Will Miss This

Guess where I've been? Yep.  The ball games. Again.
The only part I enjoy is watching Small T cheer. I'm not a big fan of basketball, even though the kids have all played.
Small T is on the left.
Small T is in the middle.
I'm always glad when basketball season is over, but this is the last year I have any children in school (other than college). So, I'm probably going to miss it. Sometimes.

Homecoming 2014-2015

Last night was Homecoming at our school. They played Madison. I only went to watch the cheerleaders though. Basketball is not my favorite sport.  Even when my kids were playing. With Small T being the Cheer Captain, she insists that I make an appearance whenever there's a home ball game though. So Big Daddy and I went. Here are a few Cheer Highlights:
The Cheer Squad during the Girls game. Small T is on the right. The mascot does a great job helping the girls out!
Small T...while they were announcing the other team. She's actually clapping, you just can't tell.
At half-time of the boys game, our Cheer girls performed a dance. They did a great job too! Here's a photo of the squad in their dance outfits. Small T is 2nd from the left.
One final photo...Small T and Carissa.  Carissa is Small T's asst. captain.

Fun Times

I bet you're wondering if I had any fun during these past 16 weeks.  Well...here's what I did that could be considered fun, possibly.
Small T broke her foot at the same time I broke my arm.  It was lovely.  Just lovely. Two of us sporting some extra "gear" for a while.
Once she healed up, she was back on the softball field for her final year of play, as she's a senior. I drove to every single game, even if I only made 5 minutes of it. Once in a while, I got there just in time to see them walking across the field to shake hands, and I had missed the whole game.  At least I tried! This year, she played two positions...short stop...
and center field. I love this photo of her "at ready" for a potential hit to her area.
 I watched her at bat...
 and stealing bases.
Big Daddy and I ordered her letter jacket and presented it to her.  It was hugely expensive simply because she had so much stuff to be sewn on. The back is completely covered with patches and medals.
We celebrated Big Daddy's 54th birthday. I felt so bad because he had to make his own cake. (I'm a bad wife sometimes. Oops.)
But with the help of a neighbor, he woke up to a surprise on the front porch (after I had left for college).  I gave him two kittens to keep him company while I was at school.
We aren't "cat" people, but the kids enjoyed them too.  We ended up having to find them a good home though, because it turned out that we are ALL allergic to cats.  It took a month to get everyone well again.  But it's the thought that counted, right?
The beginning of October saw the Pecan Festival arrive again.  Small T and her best friend, Trev, were inseparable, as usual.  Here they are in the Nutty Parade, representing the senior class.
Here they are again in the big parade, driving a big tractor.
November brought the birth of my newest great-niece. I was extremely lucky in that I got to hold her asap after birth.
Isn't she such a sweetie?  She has very big hands and feet, with long fingers and toes.
She's just precious.  Her name is Zaylie.  Her mom is Z, my niece, Zanna.
I attended the school play.  I cannot for the life of me remember the name of it though.  Small T played a southern belle.
My nephew, Awan, was the hillbilly maintenance man.
Big C turned 20!  Where has the time gone???
I went in for a trim, a wax, and a hot oil treatment.  Sometimes, you just need some time at the salon.
Small T's vehicle was the subject of a hit-and-run.
Small T started clinicals in Health Occupations class (she's in the middle).
Big Daddy and I attended Meet The Wildcats at school.  This is the opener for the varsity basketball season. The four kids in this photo are the seniors participating in the basketball season. From the left, it's Chey, Royce, Small T, and Don'Neal.
I've attended a few home basketball games.  This is the cheer squad this year.
Here's another photo.  Small T is 2nd from the right.  She's the cheer captain.
That's been all the "fun" I've basically had during the past 16 weeks.  My life was mostly homework with once a week housework thrown in. :/ It was busy, but I made it.

A Senior

Small T is a Senior in High School this year.  Last week, she had her Senior Photos taken.  Here are a few that I like.  :)  I'm so proud of her and she's such a cute girl.

Alumni Game

On the evening of the 23rd, Big C (far right, back row) played in the Alumni Game at school.  It's a yearly fundraiser held by the Alumni Association.  Shown above is a photo of the men's team.

Student Council Banquet

Last night was the Student Council Banquet (and Awards Ceremony).
Small T received one of the High School "Learning to Serve" awards.  She had the 2nd highest total of community service hours for her class.
During the 2014-15 Officer Installation awards, Small T was sworn in as Reporter.
Small T (as the outgoing officer for this last year) is shown swearing in the new Historians for next year.
