Yard

My yard is full of this stuff. Yes, I know, I need to mow. But doesn't it look pretty with all the little white flowers? And it really isn't that tall, it just looks that way in the photo. Who am I trying to convince? LOL Me!

What A Surprise!

While I was out looking at clouds this afternoon, I noticed something wonderful. My flower bushes are blooming! We've lived in this house three years now and they hadn't bloomed yet. Imagine my surprise! I love these type of flowers but honestly, I was considering having the bushes pulled or dug out. We're experiencing an ant problem this year and they are drawn to these bushes. We'll have to see what happens. Maybe they will stay, maybe they won't. Good thing they are blooming now. It might help me change my mind. :)

Back Home

We're back home now. Thank God! It's been a long couple of days. Everything went well with Medium J's surgery and he's currently propped up in one of the couch recliners. However, I don't have any crochet projects to share. I didn't crochet a single thing while I was gone. I guess I'll have to make up for it tonight. LOL See you all soon!

So Tell Me...

what's in your fridge? Do you ever wonder what other people have in theirs? Hmmm... Makes you think, doesn't it? (Obviously, the 250 rolls are getting to me....warping my brain....but at least I have the first of the three last pans in the oven finally.) Anyway, back to the fridge. I never knew that one person could own so many salad dressings! Wow! I've got bunches of them! At least there's some healthy stuff in there....lots of bottled water....a couple of drawers of veggies......and some milk (2 separate gallons of it because I have 3 teens). Then, there's the leftovers in gallon bags (yep...we eat leftovers)....the birthday cupcake cake that's only half eaten......and dare I say it....the shelf of beer....yes.....beer. For emergencies. I will admit that I bought a 9 pack about 2 weeks ago and all 9 beers are still there. Taking up space. lol I won't show you the little hard liquor shelf on the cabinet beside the fridge. It's for emergencies too. And then there's the soda on the top shelf. We drink soda. I admit it. But if you look closely, we have way more water in the fridge than soda. Amazing, isn't it? What one family deems necessary to keep in the refrigerator. So here's a dare for all of you ladies out there.....I dare you to show me what's in your fridge!!!

Cherry Tree

My last remaining cherry tree is in full bloom! Isn't she pretty? I hope this means that I will have lots and lots of cherries to pick. I did have three cherry trees, but last summer, one was hit by lightning and we had to cut it down. The other one died during the winter.

I always share my bounty of off the cherry trees in my yard, so I'm hoping that this one will have a good supply in a month or so. We use the cherries to make blackberry/cherry jelly and jam. It's wonderful!

Signs of life in my yard...

I found this egg on the sidewalk alongside my house. I think it's a robins' egg but I'm not sure. There are no cracks or anything in the egg. It must have fell out of the nest and rolled down the hill to my sidewalk. Looks like there will be one less bird in my yard this year. It makes me sad.

I was looking in my backyard at my fruit trees because I was wondering if I would have any cherries this year. It looks like I will if we don't have another frost. There aren't as many little fruits as last year on this tree, but there are still quite a few.

This is a photo of the bushes alongside the front of my house, just under the porch. They are beautiful. I don't know what type of bush they are, but I was told that they have been here a long time. They never bloomed for the previous owner, but when we bought the property, I trimmed the bushes up and they have bloomed all three spring/summer seasons that we have lived here.

Last Year's Unfinished Project Is...

The big raised flower bed that I wanted to plant my garden in this spring. **SIGH** The body of it is done but it doesn't have anything inside. I need...some rock...some sand...and a lot of dirt.
