Homecoming 2014-2015

Last night was Homecoming at our school. They played Madison. I only went to watch the cheerleaders though. Basketball is not my favorite sport.  Even when my kids were playing. With Small T being the Cheer Captain, she insists that I make an appearance whenever there's a home ball game though. So Big Daddy and I went. Here are a few Cheer Highlights:
The Cheer Squad during the Girls game. Small T is on the right. The mascot does a great job helping the girls out!
Small T...while they were announcing the other team. She's actually clapping, you just can't tell.
At half-time of the boys game, our Cheer girls performed a dance. They did a great job too! Here's a photo of the squad in their dance outfits. Small T is 2nd from the left.
One final photo...Small T and Carissa.  Carissa is Small T's asst. captain.

Meet The Wildcats

Every year, before the official start of the high school basketball season, the school holds an event called "Meet The Wildcats".  It's where the girls and the boys teams are introduced and then they hold a small exhibition game for each team.  There are even a few games using audience participation.  I was chose for one of those this year.  No surprise there.  I get chosen a LOT.  lol  This year, I don't have any basketball players (since Big C graduated last year) but I do have a lovely little cheerleader....Small T.
 Here she is.
She's 2nd from the right in this photo.
All the way to the right in this one.
And all the way to the right, once again.
So...this year, I will be sharing lots and lots of cheerleading photos instead of my usual mix of basketball and cheerleading.  Brace yourself.  lol

Homecoming 2013

Homecoming had an 80's theme this year.
At half time of the boys game, the cheerleaders performed a dance routine.
They changed into their "costumes" just prior to time, so they were able to cheer for a bit in them as well.
Small T is in the hot pink t-shirt.
 Big C.  2nd from right.
 Big C warming up with a lay-up.
Final score of the boys game.
It was neck and neck the whole game.
Very action packed.
So much action, that I have virtually no photos to share other than these.

What's Been Happening....

Here's an update of what's been happening in my neck of the woods since my last post.
The Senior Class at school put on a great Veteran's Day Assembly.
Big C recited a poem.
A photo from the photo shoot I did of Small T and a friend that's moving.
This is Small T.
And this is Small T and her friend.
Last Sunday, I sat down and made this Conehat.  It's a free pattern and can be found here http://allcraftsblogs.com/crochet_hat_patterns/cone_hat_for_all_sizes/cone_hat_for_all_sizes_pattern.html .
I used some Simply Soft yarn that I had on hand.  I do not know the color name though.  I also didn't put the tassel on the end.  Just because I didn't want to.  No other reason.
Tuesday, the 13th, was Big C's 18th birthday.
I couldn't believe it.  He blew out all 18 candles in one breath!  I hope he gets his wish!
Friday, I got my hair done.
I really needed it.
I also started the Stained Glass Afghan on Friday.
I'm using up my scrap yarn for this project.  All of it Red Heart Super Saver.
Friday night was "Meet the Wildcats".
It's the opening ceremony for the High School Basketball Teams.
Small T is a cheerleader.
She's the one with her pom-pom's in the air.
I really wish this photo had turned out.
But I think you can see the idea behind it.
Big C is the only senior boy on the basketball team.
They start out announcing the team from the lowest grade to the highest grade.
So...when it was Big C's turn....the announcer says in his best WWE announcer's voice....and the lone senior is Chance Whitney.....and Big C steps forward and raises his arms in the air....and the crowd roars!!!!!
It was soooooooo exciting! I love it!
So, the boys divided into two teams and scrimmaged against each other for the crowd.
Big C was one the white team.
He started the game.
 Here's Big C guarding Quade.
And all four senior's participating in Basketball and Cheer.....Chelsea, Rebecca, Chance and Katie.
A man and his entourage.  LOL  Just kidding.

Cheer Tryouts

I wanted to share a quick photo of a few of the girls at Cheerleading Tryouts on Tuesday. My girl is on the far left. With the pony tail. She made the squad. She's been cheerleading for the school three years now. When she was younger, she was a competitive cheerleader and traveled several states competing.

Meet the Wildcats...

Here's my daughter, the injured cheerleader, cheering from the sidelines for the JV squad. She's actually a Jr. High cheerleader, but for "Meet the Wildcats", the JH cheerleaders will cheer for the JV squad of the HS team.

Nov. 19th was "Meet the Wildcats" at school. It's where you come and meet this years High School Varsity and Junior Varsity basketball players before the season begins. The players are all introduced, there are games between the Varsity and Junior Varsity players, and then you have games that include the players and members of the crowd. It's loads of fun!!! I'm spotlighting my son, #55, here in my blog. He's a sophmore and a member of the JV squad.
