Accident

Well, two of our four vehicles were involved in a little "family accident".  You see...Small T was pulling out of the spot and didn't give herself enough room and her car hit the rear end of Big C's pick up truck.
The gigantic tank of a truck only had the lower part of the tail light broke out.  Seriously, it's been in a couple of accidents and came out without a scratch.
Small T's car didn't fare so well.  The mirror hit the tail light.  And the bumper of the truck put a crease all the way down the side of her car.  Ugh!
Rather than have a huge fight between Big C and Small T, Big Daddy broke the news to Big C.  And he took the blame for it.  He didn't want Small T getting "whooped".  No wonder she's so spoiled!

Accident Prone - Big C

There's one thing about our family...it's accident prone.
Seriously!
Especially the kids.
We've gone a few months since the last accident.
Actually, it was in October with Small T and the Softball.
So...I guess we were just biding time until fate would step in.
This time it's Big C.
Soft Cast on the right foot and there's a brace on the knee under his pants.
He's probably out for the remainder of basketball season.
But hopefully he'll be back to normal by baseball season.
Appt. with the Orthopedic Dr. on Thursday, so we'll see what happens.
This is why my kids NEVER carry cakes at school. LOL

Small T and the Softball Accident

I got a phone call Tuesday afternoon while Small T was at softball practice. I needed to get to the field asap as Small T was hit in the face with the softball. Oh boy! I could just see this coming. My kids never do anything by half-measure. So...when we get there, I could see everyone standing in the softball field around her while she was lying on the ground. Big Daddy pulled the car up close to the field and I got out to see what was going on. I was handed her broken glasses and they helped load her up. She had gauze on the bleeding and an ice bag over all of it. Coach asked that I call him when we find out what the doctors had to say after the trip to the Emergency Room. Prepare yourself...here's what we saw....
It's not nearly as bad as what we thought we might see. She did have a nose bleed on the way to the hospital. I was leaning over the front seat into the back seat trying to help her out. The one time I needed something to stop the bleeding and I was out of everything I normally have on hand. No kleenex, no toliet paper (emergency stuff for nose blowing), no paper towels, nothing.

This is Small T's lovely appearance yesterday.

And this is Small T (working up a smile) today.
There have been doctor appt's each and every day since Tuesday afternoon. It's a wonder she's smiling at all. She ended up having an orbital blowout fracture (the bone under her eye...I would call it her cheekbone, but it's not) and a maxillary nasal fracture. At least one of these will require surgery when the swelling subsides in about 10 days to 2 weeks. She also has an abrasion to her cornea. Her glasses are toast, but we have to wait to have a new pair made until after her next visit with the eye doctor. Due to the trauma, she may need a different prescription. On a high note, her boyfriend still thinks she's cute! Sweet, huh? :)

My Poor Baby Girl

My poor baby girl. She's got an injury. From trick-or-treating Sunday evening. We've been to the doctor, the ER and now...the orthopedic surgeon. She is scheduled for an MRI on Tuesday and then back to the surgeon on Wednesday. Apparently she tore the Liz Frank ligament and fractured a bone. Wow! All she did was fall in a ditch. Who knew trick-or-treating could be so hazardous!

Traffic Accident

Well....I had my very first traffic accident today. In my husband's pick up truck. I was not hurt, the kids were not hurt, the people in the other truck were not hurt, and neither was my husband's truck, but the other truck was dented up some. All of it was my fault. I was backing up out of a parking space at the school and backed into a parked truck. My shoes were wet from all the snow and my foot slipped off the brake pedal. *sigh* So I made sure the owner of the other truck had all my insurance information and that she checked out the damage to her vehicle, then came home and told my husband what had happened, and then called our insurance company. *sigh* I guess I should count my lucky stars that it wasn't any worse than what it was.
