Frost Burned

Today, my 2nd day of ISS, I started and finished Frost Burned.  It's the 7th book of the Mercy Thompson series.  It's also the last book of this series that I have.  Total Bummer...as I love this series and wish I had more of it to read.

Now, I have to figure out what book I want to take with me to school tomorrow.  Decisions, decisions.

River Marked

Yesterday, with all the errands and appointments, I was able to finish the book, "River Marked", during the waiting periods in the doctor's offices.  It's another "great book".

Silver Borne

I just finished the 5th book of the Mercy Thompson Series, "Silver Borne".  :)  There's nothing like a good read!  And I enjoyed my time spent with this one!

Bone Crossed

This is the 4th book in the Mercy Thompson series that I'm reading.  I started and finished it yesterday.  Once I got going, I just couldn't put it down.  Even though I've read it already.  Does that ever happen to you?

Preying for Mercy

I'm re-reading another book series out of my home library.  You see, my niece, D-Ray, bought me the 7th book of this series for Christmas and I just HAVE to re-read the previous 6 books before I can sink my teeth into all of the goodness that the 7th book offers.  :)  I finished this book tonight.  It's a collection of the first 3 books in one big book called "Preying For Mercy".  "Preying For Mercy" is the 1st book, then it's "Moon Called" and "Blood Bound".  I'm now ready to start the 4th book..."Bone Crossed".

Book Review - The Perks of Being a Wallflower

On a whim, I bought this book for Small T for Christmas.

How was I to know that it was one she was "dying" to read.  

High Five to me.

She sped through it in a day.  Then asked me to read it.

I read the book yesterday and loved it!

Characters, including the teen narrator, drink, smoke, and use drugs. Is it any good?

I have read several of this books over the course of my lifetime, but not all of them.  Small T has stated that she would like to add them to her reading list.  So..."we" will be reading them together.  My next step will be to purchase these books, one at a time, as soon as the new year starts.
I know that most of these books are controversial, but...I'm a controversial type of parent.  I talk with my kids about everything possible because I want them to be prepared for life.  In some ways, I have sheltered them, but since they are subjected to many different things over the course of life, I feel they need to read about things as well as talking about them.  I'm sorry if any of my views hit a bad note with others, but ... that's life as well.
