Update - Crochet Mood Blanket
Last night, I spent a few minutes catching up with the Crochet Mood Blanket I'm working on. Mine actually isn't a huge blanket size though. Mine is a much smaller version of it. I'm using the one round granny squares and in the end, I think I'm going to turn it into a big floor cushion. Or a small throw. I haven't decided yet. The photo above shows my progress on the "blanket" so far.

Crochet Mood Blanket
After much thought, I decided to rework the Crochet Mood Blanket that I'm working on. My previous squares were just too big. I decided to make 1 round granny squares (they are very tiny) and hook them together as I went. I really like these. But...my blanket is planned out for 360 squares which is 18 squares by 20 squares.....and 18 squares hooked together is about 26 inches. That's not very big. After a lot more thought, I've come to this conclusion....I'll probably turn this into a big floor cushion instead of a blanket. If I do a blanket, it would be a baby sized one if I didn't work a LOT of border around it. I think the big floor cushion will be the best bet. My family loves the oversized light green pillow that I made and they are constantly fighting over who gets to use it. This would give them one more big cushion to fight over. lol
Anyway, the above photo shows the current stage of the "new" Crochet Mood Blanket. I'm caught up until I get to today's mood.

Update - Crochet Mood Blanket
I took a few minutes in the last hour and caught up on my squares for the Crochet Mood Blanket 2014. I hadn't made my squares since the 11th. I'm joining them as I go, so I have them in order. The photo shows my bag of yarn that I'm using. It's pretty handy to have it all in one place. When I'm ready to work on it, I just grab the bag and get to work.

Crafting...
I didn't do a lot of crafting yesterday. Instead, I spent most of my free time browsing my favorite blogs.
I did work up 4 granny squares though. For the Crochet Mood Blanket that "I'm not doing". lol I'm still in the process of deciding...but didn't want to get behind, so I worked this up "just in case". Have you ever seen someone dither about so much? Me neither.
I don't have a photo to share, but I started the knitted square for the Knit A Block A Week Challenge. I'm not doing any squares that are hard. Just a basic one. I'm using Caron's Simply Soft yarn out of my stash and size 8 knitting needles. To begin, I cast on 40 stitches. I think I worked 10 rows on it last night.
The only other thing I did yesterday in regards to crafting was to go through my yarn stash so I could find out 1 skein of each color that I wanted to use for the Crochet Mood Blanket that "I'm not doing". I also found out a few co-ordinating skeins of yarn for the Knit A Block A Week Challenge. Then I put away the extra circles that I didn't use on the Scrap Baby Blanket and dug out the extra balls of yarn that I will use for the border. I'm going to have to clean up the living room today, if for no other reason than to organize my 7 project bags that are surrounding my spot on the couch. :( Seriously though, we do need to de-clutter a bit and w are possibly having company this afternoon, so that's the best reason for cleaning up that there is. You can't have company with a messy house. Unless they are family. lol Have a good day everyone!

Crochet Mood Blanket 2014
While browsing through the blog http://www.lemondedesucrette.com/ , I came across a post talking about the Crochet Mood Blanket 2014 project. http://www.lemondedesucrette.com/2014/01/03/crochet-mood-blanket-2014-1/
I clicked through to a link http://instagram.com/p/ieKToCPWdi/ and found this explanation of the project (by mummy_stacey) :
Right I realised that I haven't put a post on with all the info for the #crochetmoodblanket2014challenge!! It's all over the place just like the dyslexic frantic Mumma that I am!!! I really wasn't expecting so many people to join in, thought there would be about 10 at the most, must be about 200 now, maybe more (wonder how I could find out for sure... ponder ponder)!!! 😄 Will try and put all the info on THIS post to make it easier! If anyone asks you for more info, please direct them to this post, thanx 😘 So, really the only rule is that you crochet/knit a square or stripe everyday (or once a week if that suits you better) in 2014 using a colour that you feel reflects your mood. The colour choices are totally up to you! I think it's important that you use colours that you like so that it doesn't get boring. Plus you'll want a blanket you'd like to keep after all that hard work!! I'm personally using stylecraft and will be calling on the wonderful@mycraftlife for more yarn when I need it!! The amount of rounds is up to you! I think I'm going to do 4 rounds as I think I'll find that manageable! Most people doing the 365 are doing 4/5, the 52 people are doing more so they get a big blanket too ☺ A few lovely people including @charliebarleymo have said that they're going to do 15x24 squares or 18x20 or even 19x19. That leaves a few extra squares left so you can either give yourself a few days off, or do a border for those days. If you're a newbie to crochet @girlybunches has lots of lovely easy to follow YouTube videos (link on her page) or there's always Lucy from Attic24's blog which is fab!! Hmm... Think that's everything??? Hope that helps?? Let me know if there's anything else you'd like to know and I'll pop it on the comments on this post! Happy hooking everyone!! And thank you, I'm totally overwhelmed!! See you on Jan 1st !!!xxx
So...I really like the idea of this blanket. I just have to decide if I have the staying power to stick with this world wide challenge if I were to accept it. I would only be a couple of days behind so I could easily catch up with the squares today. I will have to think on this and let everyone know what I decide. What do you all think? Is this something that interests you?
