I just finished this one up. I used Red Heart worsted weight yarn in Lt. Blue and White. My husband laughs each time I put one of these on to model it. Obviously, I don't look good in hats, plus...Small T is a much prettier model. Oh well. I'm getting the job done. LOL

Bucksaw Resort and Marina - Fishing Trip

This past weekend (Labor Day Weekend), Big Daddy, Big C and I went on a fishing holiday. Big Daddy said it was for his upcoming birthday. (sigh...this is his normal excuse...and it's a couple of weeks until his birthday...so...we bucked up and went...those of us that could.) We went to Bucksaw Resort and Marina on Truman Lake. This is a favorite place of ours, so it was a good trip to go on. We try to make it there at least once a year. And we were needing to go soon anyway so we could look up some info on possibly having our family reunion there in 2012.

This is a photo of the main building ... the Marina and Restaurant. The water is exceptionally low this year, so ...that makes the building sit lower in the water.

"Me"...sitting back enjoying the ride on the boat. Yes, it was very cool that day and I do indeed have a sweatshirt on. Big C wanted my sweatshirt incredibly bad as he was freezing. But he wouldn't wear something that I had on anyway. It has booby marks in it. (imagine....)

We always make bets before we starting the fishing trip and assign rewards. Needless to say...I got nothing. *sigh* Not even a bit of beginner's luck. And no...I'm not a beginner, but I was hoping anyway.

Noteworthy Event for the weekend- We ate all of our meals in the marina's floating restaurant. They have HUGE pancakes. The pancakes are bigger than the dinner plate and about half an inch thick each. Wow! Yep! Wow! So imagine...they have the Hungry Man challenge which is 3 pancakes for $5.99. If you can eat the entire plate of pancakes you get them free. They had almost talked Big C into it and then he chickened out. I knew he couldn't do it, but I would have let him try if he wanted. So...for our family, at the upcoming reunion in 2012, this challenge will provide immense comic relief. Look out Bucksaw!

Children's Earflap Hats

I made another set of children's earflap hats. Here's a photo of them. The pink one up in the corner was made previously, but somehow got left out of the photo collage I posted earlier. I don't have models for these but you can see the colors pretty good in the above photo.

A Quick Hello...

So sorry I haven't posted for a few days. I've been busy...working, working, working. I'm doing another temp job out at the liquor store and by the time I get home at night, I'm tired and still have loads of things to do since my two high school aged kids are very active with sports and other organizations. After the ball game Friday night, Big Daddy, Big C and I went away for a quick 2-day weekend of fishing. We got home late last night and now I'm getting ready to head to work. I've got a craft booth at a nearby festival this Saturday, so...I'm doing as much crocheting as I possibly can. I hope to see you soon...and maybe I'll have a post in the next day or so. Children's Earflap Hats

I hope you enjoy the photo collage of children's earflap hats (seen below). I've been working on these the past few days (while at work) and since they are for children, I had to go hunt me up some models before I could post photos of them. I actually made 6 hats, but somehow I only ended up with 5 hats in the photos. Hmmm...wonder how that happened! LOL These are the same pattern as my adult or teen earflap hats, minus one row of increasing. FYI- yes, you've seen these models before...they are Pattycake and Sassy!

The Pool is Closed

The pool has officially closed for the winter (as of this past Sunday). I had prepared myself for a lovely day...with most of my packing up done...and planned to laze about on my raft while floating around the pool...but that didn't happen. See this photo...the sky looked horrible. And it started thundering and sprinkling and all that nasty stuff. Alas, the pool was closed down shortly after 4 pm. No fun in that all! Anyway...here's to the pool...hope it has a good winter...and is able to reopen for next summer.
