Edging the Squares

I've started edging the squares. This is what I'm doing. I'm joining the yarn in a corner with a sc, ch 3, sc. Then going around the sides, I'm using a ch 4, sk 3 sc, sc in next sc. I have approx. 40 stitches down each side of the square, so this is working out well for me. I end up with 10 ch 4 spaces and then the corner spaces of ch 3.

Miss M is Here!!!

Miss M (Medium J's girlfriend) arrived last night for a visit. My two little doggies were THRILLED to see her. They are like a bunch of little kids, jumping up and down, begging for attention. I'm sure if they spoke "human" we would have heard them hollering "pick me up", "me first" and all of those other kid like endearments that they speak when they are excited. Anyway, when she was finally able to sit down next to Medium J, she was covered in doggies. Can you imagine? I just had to snap a photo!

My CAL Squares

I have finished all 12 of my CAL squares. Now I have to figure out what order I want them in and then I can start edging them together. I'm going to use a method very similar to the one posted here on this blog http://sewritzytitzy.blogspot.com/ . I'm wanting my blanket to lay flat without any ridges where the squares have been joined. I will be posting photos of this process to my blog.

Featuring A Blog - The Kansas Hooker

I was blog browsing this morning and found the cutest blog called The Kansas Hooker http://thekansashooker.blogspot.com/ . She makes these little creatures called Baby Uglees.
Aren't they the cutest little projects? I am in LOVE with them!!!

Flower Burst 12" Square

Square #10, for the CAL, is called Flower Burst. It's a free pattern and can be found here http://www.yarncrazy.com/flower-burst . The pattern calls for three colors, but I wanted to do mine in a solid color. The photo isn't the best, with the red background, but I think it turned out really well. I used Red Heart worsted weight yarn in Black.
