"Color"-Ful Sling - Free Pattern

I'm so excited.  I managed to whip out "two" free patterns today.
First, The Mini Lined Purse and now the "Color"-Ful Sling.
Both are pretty basic patterns.  However, you can embellish them in any manner you desire.
The "Color"-Ful Sling will work for both a boy or a girl.
This is a pretty simple design.
I used the bold color of the button and the hair tie to accentuate the sling I made.
Here's another shot of it.
Anyway, here's the free pattern.  I hope you enjoy it!

4- ch 1, sc in each st around, join with a sl st to beg sc. (26 sc)
5 thru 18- repeat round 4.
*now we are creating the flap*
19- ch 1, turn.  sc in same st and in next 7 sts.
20- ch 1, turn.  sc in same st and in each st across.
21 thru 27- repeat row 20.
28- ch 1, do not turn.  sc evenly down the side of the flap, sc across the front of the sling, sc evenly up the side of the flap, when you get to the corner, work 2 sc in that stitch, sc across the edge of the flap to the next corner, work 1 sc in the corner st and join with a sl st to first sc.  fasten off.  weave in ends.
*insert crayon box into sling*
Find the center of the sides of the bag and mark with a piece of yarn.  Remove crayon box from sling. Attach yarn to the side of the sling with a sl st to join.  ch 100, being careful not to twist.  join to the other side of the bag in the marked stitch.  ch 1, turn.  sc in each ch across to the other side, join with a sl st to the next st on that side of the bag.  Fasten off, weave in ends.
*turn bag inside out.  this is the right side of the bag.*
*insert crayon box back into the sling*
Attach a hair elastic to the center of the flap.  This is the closure of the bag.  Figure out where you will want to place your button on the front of the sling, making sure the hair elastic will fit snugly around the button.  Remove box carefully and sew the button on to the sling.
That's it.  You're finished.
I hope you enjoy your crayon sling!!!
As always, please give credit where credit is due.  Please don't steal my pattern.  :)  Thanks.
