Little Girls Puff Purse

Ta-Da!!! Here's my secret project that I was busy designing. Cute, huh? I'm calling it my "Little Girls Puff Purse". I've decided to share the pattern with everyone and I hope you enjoy it. Please don't claim the pattern as your own...give credit where credit is due.

Little Girls Puff Purse

Materials:
Red Heart worsted weight yarn
I hook

Special stitches:
Popcorn- yo, insert hook into stitch;
yo, draw hook back thru stitch (3 lps on hk);
yo, draw thru 1st lp (3 lps on hk);
yo, insert hk thru stitch;
yo, draw back thru stitch;
yo, draw thru 2 lps on hk (4 lps on hk);
yo, insert hk thru stitch;
yo, draw back thru stitch;
yo, draw thru 2 lps on hk (5 lps on hk);
yo, draw thru all lps on hk.

Body:
ch 54. Join to form a ring. Make sure you don't twist the ring.
1- ch 1, sc in same st and in each ch around; join with a sl st to the 1st sc.
2- ch 1, sc in same st and in each sc around; join with a sl st to the 1st sc.
3- ch 1, turn. sc in same st. *work popcorn in next st, sc in next st, repeat from * around; join with a sl st to the 1st sc.
4- ch 1, turn. sc in same st and in each st around; join with a sl st to 1st sc.
*Repeat rows 3 & 4 for pattern. You want 8 rows of puff stitch. End with row 4.

Handles:
1- ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 5 st, ch 45, sk 15 sts, sc in next 12 sts, ch 45, sk 15 sts, sc in next 6 sts, join with a sl st to 1st sc.
2- ch 1, sc in same st and in each st and ch around. join with a sl st to 1st sc.
3- ch 1, sc in same st and in each sc around. join with a sl st to 1st sc.
4- (optional...it's for a thicker handle) Repeat row 3. fasten off. weave in ends.

Finishing:
Turn bag wrong side out. Line up the handles. Sew the bottom of the purse together. (I slip stitch the bottom together with yarn.) Weave in ends. Turn bag right side out.

Flowers: (make 2)
ch 4, join to form a ring.
1- ch 1, 6 sc in ring. join with a sl st to 1st sc.
2- (change color of yarn) ch 1, sc in same st, ch 5, *sc in next st, ch 5, repeat from * around; join with a sl st to 1st sc. fasten off. weave in ends. (you should have 7 petals)
Sew flowers to purse.
