My next project is a cap and sweater set for my great nephew. I'm working on the cap now. He's 6 months old, and his head measures 17 inches around, so I'm using this pattern http://www.knitting-n-crochet.com/free-crochet-Christmas-patterns.html and altering it as I go. I just stopped at Round 11 and went directly to Round 18. It's not exactly 17 inches, but I think it's going to work out fine. I'm using Caron's Simply Soft yarn and an I hook.
As for the sweater, I'm going to work up my own pattern for it. She's getting me the measurements that I need, and I'll go from there. I hope it will turn out ok. I've not been able to find a free pattern for a 6 to 9 month old sweater.
