I was messing around this morning, trying to come up with something I wanted to crochet and I decided to make a rectangular pin cushion. Here's what I came up with:
Rectangular Pin Cushion
Materials
Simply Soft yarn (small amounts)
G hook
Fiber Fill
Solid Side
ch 8.
1 - sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across (7 sc)
2 to 16 - ch 1, turn. sc in each sc across.
at the end of row 16, fasten off.
Stripe Side
ch 8.
1 - sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across (7 sc)
2 to 4 - ch 1, turn. sc in each sc across. at the end of row 4, switch colors of yarn.
5 & 6 - ch 1, turn. sc in each sc across. at the end of row 6, switch colors of yarn.
7 to 10 - ch 1, turn. sc in each sc across. at the end of row 10, switch colors of yarn.
11 & 12 - ch 1, turn. sc in each sc across. at the end of row 12, switch colors of yarn.
13 to 16 - ch 1, turn. sc in each sc across. at the end of row 16, fasten off.
Edging
1 - Holding the solid side and the stripe side together, with wrong sides facing, attach yarn and sc even around the edge, putting 3 sc in each corner. before you close up the rectangle, tightly stuff with fiber fill, then sc closed. join with a sl st to the 1st sc made.
2 - ch 1, *sc, ch 3, sc in next sc* around. join with a sl st to the 1st sc made. fasten off. weave in end.
**NOTE: This is my own pattern that I came up with. If someone else has a pattern out there like this, I've not seen it. So I couldn't copy it. This being said, feel free to use this pattern to make lots of wonderful pin cushions.**
