My husband and I went out of town this afternoon to do a big amount of grocery shopping and when we turned onto the highway just outside of our town to head north, we couldn't believe our eyes. We've got flood water everywhere. Don't get me wrong. We're used to having it. But we didn't expect to see this as we've not been hearing any flood warnings on the radio. Here's a glimpse of what we saw. The orange wrapped pallets contain bags of sand. We saw evidence of sandbagging along one section of road. The first photo is of the railroad bridge across the river. It usually has at least 10 feet of clearance above the water.
